The Long Walk
Aran wool, wide cotton and a scarf. Built for four hours outside.
From Off-Duty HoursStyling notes
A fisherman knit is an outer layer that happens to be a jumper. Wear a coat over it and you have overdressed by one garment; wear it alone and you are warmer than most people in a jacket.
The fatigues are wide, so the knit has to be the tallest thing in the outfit. Volume on volume needs one of the two to stop somewhere.
Why it works
- Ecru against olive is a natural pairing — both are the colours of undyed things.
- Heavy wool, heavy cotton, heavy suede. Nothing here is thin.
- The black tee under the knit keeps the neckline from disappearing.
Swap it
Indigo selvedge instead of the fatigues if the day involves sitting down.
